Elements

As we transit deeper into the chaos of the meta-crisis, the flow of energy among the elements of the medicine wheel is increasing and intensifying. Pachamama’s natural cycles are ramping up.

Earth is feeding energy to fire as forests and wildlands dry and burn.
Fire is feeding energy to water as ice melts, and the oceans warm and change their circulation patterns.
Water is feeding energy to air as warm water evaporates, then condenses and storm formation intensifies.
Air is feeding energy to earth, as storms become more powerful and wind and rain pummel and flood the landscape.
The intensity of these interactions, the speed of the cycles, the amount of energy engaged, and their impacts will continue to increase.

One response to these shifts is to rail against what is happening and try and re-assert our delusional dominance over nature. To fight, to re-build, to re-colonize.

A more resourceful response seems to be to embrace, acknowledge and align ourselves with the changing natural order. To practice self-discipline and abandon our desires for all that capitalistic modernity, and new age spirituality has sold us. Not to “manifest what we want for ourselves” but rather to honour divine law, and engage in right action and voluntary simplicity. To be soulful in our physical, mental and spiritual practices. And to respect, honor and advocate for life – in all its beautiful forms.

What is divine law? Yes – sit with and deeply contemplate that question.

Be elemental.
