You become aware of an event
You are drawn to it and want to go
You register and are looking forward to it
As the event approaches weird things start to happen
Sometimes days or hours before the event
Such as:
– Conflicts arise
– Other priorities pop up
– Sudden exhaustion
– Equipment needed to attend stops working
– Accidents, or strange illnesses happen
And you don’t go
A common new age response is “it wasn’t meant to be”
However a more likely explanation is that the part of you that wants to maintain your current identity knows that the event will create a shift within, and consequently creates ways to make you miss the event and thus stay the same (“safe”)
We are very creative in our avoidance / “self sabotage” / self protection
It’s an interesting counter example of the power we have to shape reality
We are often not aware of our internal aspects that are working diligently, often out of fear or control, to “protect” us from changing
If things start to go “sideways” and you are about to “bail out” of an event or piece of inner work, it is worth considering that the event is exactly what you need to make a shift
Know the difference between avoidance / “self sabotage” / protection and true spiritual guidance
And between passivity and patience
