Channeling

We are each unique expressions of consciousness
Within each of us is the connection to greater consciousness

The goddesses, gods, sacred beings and deities we recognize are archetypal representations of aspects of the divine nature of consciousness
Our personal perspectives, influential teachers, and sacred / religious teachings determine how these archetypes appear to us, and the qualities they hold in our psyche

In meditation we can connect with these aspects of ourselves, in our inner world – and communicate with them – bringing forth our own inner wisdom
This can be an effective way for us to access information from the more subtle realms within, and can lead to personal insight and transformation
Exchanging our “channeled” perspectives from this realm can be interesting and stimulate deeper inquiry into the mysteries

And we can project this inner world to create “external” beings and deities – apparently separate from us, but actually just a projection of us
Like all projections they then reflect our beliefs and biases, including our unresolved issues and “stuff”
We are often thrilled when we make connection with these beings and discover they are willing to communicate with us, and we can “channel” messages from “them”

And this can become a problem, or even abusive, when we begin to channel information for another, if we fail to recognize we are actually talking to and about ourselves, and take on the role of the healer, sage, or messenger

Our egotistical nature is often revealed by the number and “sacred standing” of the beings channeled – thinking we will have more credibility if we put our words in the mouth of some revered master, rather than to simply speak from our own experience
