Clearing and Releasing

Using Salt Water in a Glass Bowl for Clearing and Releasing
Bernardo Peixoto and Rick Ellis

This procedure is to be used for energetic clearing and releasing, and follow-up to shamanic work.
It is best done at the same time each night, before going to bed.

Equipment / supplies:

  1. Glass bowl (1 to 2 liter capacity): it is important that the bowl is glass rather than other material.
  2. Spring water: either bottled or natural spring water (not tap water or other types of bottled water).
  3. Coarse sea salt: not iodized or otherwise processed.
  4. Two white candles.

Instructions to prepare the water:

  1. Add about ½ liter of spring water to the glass bowl.
  2. Add 3 teaspoons of coarse sea salt to the water and stir (do not use a metal or plastic implement).
  3. Let the water sit, and go still for 5 minutes.

Instructions:
Day 1

  1. Light a candle on either side of the glass bowl.
  2. Say an introductory prayer to thank Yara (the goddess of all waters), and ask for assistance from whatever spirits you are working with in your clearing and releasing.
  3. Place both hands in the water for 10 minutes, continue praying and work to assist the clearing and releasing.
  4. Wash your face with the water, allowing any drips to go back into the bowl.
  5. Wash your arms with the water, allowing any drips to go back into the bowl.
  6. Shake your hands over the bowl, allowing any drips to go back into the bowl.
  7. Set the bowl apart and make notes on your experience, and any immediate changes in the water.
  8. Thank the candles and snuff them out; or if you are using small, household candles let them burn out.
  9. The next day, note the condition of the water (cloudy, murky, foam on the water, sediment, etc.)

Day 2:
Examine the water – if it is murky or foamy, then pray to mother nature and pour the water into a natural environment or garden (not into a sink, drain or toilet). Wash the bowl and prepare new water.

If the water is not murky or foamy then repeat the procedure from Day 1.

Day 3:
Examine the water – if it is murky or foamy, then pray to mother nature and pour the water into a natural environment or garden (not into a sink, drain or toilet). Wash the bowl and prepare new water.

If the water is not murky or foamy then repeat the procedure from Day 1.

Day 4:
Begin a new cycle = Day 1: Pray to mother nature and pour the water into a natural environment or garden (not into a sink, drain or toilet). Wash the bowl and prepare a new bowl of water.

Repeat the 3 day cycle 9 times (one moon cycle)

Notes (from Rick):

  1. I find it best to use a bowl that I can comfortably fit my hands into, with them almost completely submerged in the water.
  2. I find it best to stand with my hands in the water. Standing allows energy to more easily flow through me into the water, and also allows me to more easily feel how and where the energy is flowing, clearing and releasing.
  3. When washing my face I find it effective to wash the left side of my face with my right hand and vice versa. (Remove make-up or moisturizers before beginning the process)
  4. I recommend journeying and journal work after this process.
