Feel

Many spiritual teachings have focussed on the development of “pure mind / awareness” and propose trainings / meditations, to achieve transcendence from ego, the body and the emotions.
Advising that emotions, especially strong ones, are to be avoided
This is linked to the fear that emotions are uncontrollable, and that they will cause chaos in an orderly world

These teachings seem to be an inherent aspect of the left brain, masculine / patriarchal desire for control
Since the masculine is unsure that it can control its own emotions, it has made them un-spiritual
And in the process disempowered / supressed an important aspect of who we are

Any aspect of who we are, when denied or rejected becomes part of our soul loss and shifts into our shadow realm from where it will exert unconscious influence on our lives
Feelings are more likely to possess us if we have supressed them and they become “pent up”

When we judge / supress / reject strong “bad” emotions we limit the range of our being
Without willingness to feel the full range of emotions we live in a narrow, controlled, emotional dead zone – without passion

Feelings of great joy, great grief, great love, great rage, great creativity are all part of our feeling intelligence – heart wisdom
An intelligence that is often more accessible to the feminine and thus has been branded as inherently dangerous /disruptive
An intelligence that, when combined with the wisdom of the body, can greatly assist our navigation of life and lead us to authenticity

Strong feelings, especially those arising from triggered trauma, can be important pointers to aspects of our being that are calling out for healing / transformation
Leading us to deep inquiry

Thus it is important to be aware of and feel our emotions, rather than distracting ourselves from them
One way to do this is to “host” them within the larger wholeness of our consciousness
Act as a grateful host to a visitor (the feeling) bringing us energy and intelligence
Acknowledging and valuing them and their contribution to the authenticity of our being

This does not imply acting on our feelings unconsciously but to hold awareness of them alongside awareness of our mind and our body and internal guidance – in the wholeness of consciousness
And act based on the totality of conscious choice regarding right action

Be real – Feel
