Physicists and cosmologists recognize that time and space are not separate, but rather there is only space-time. Speed through space changes time. They are relative.
Likewise heart and mind are not separate, but rather there is only heart-mind.
The state of our heart seems to significantly impact our mind – and vice versa.
Our perspective, depth of insight, and awareness is derived from the interaction of heart and mind.
Neurologists and psychologists recognize that our development is greatly assisted by the integration of our left and right brain – and building stronger and wider connections in our corpus callosum leads to this integration.
Likewise the integration of the left and right heart.
The right and left vagus nerve appear to play a role similar to that of the corpus callosum in the integration of heart-mind. Linking heart and brain (mind).
Work with the right and left vagus nerve seems to be a resourceful approach to bringing heart-mind more fully “on line”.
The following energy / breath flow practice seems to facilitate integration of the heart-mind while strengthening the integration of left and right brain, and left and right heart.
The view is from behind to facilitate ease of orientation.
“Inhale” at the bottom of the left heart (start of green line); up the left vagus nerve and around the top of the left brain; down between the hemispheres; up the outside of the right brain; begin to exhale at the top of the right brain (start of blue line); down between the hemispheres and down the right vagus nerve; between the left and right heart; around the bottom and up the right side of the right heart; and back down between the left and right heart; and repeat starting with the inhale. Although this seems quite complicated the flow of energy / breath seems quite easy and natural once mastered.
