Longing is our hearts response to the magnetic pull of the divine
Pure longing is uncomfortable, fierce, burning, potent
But we want fulfillment
So we start thinking about, and naming, what we think we long for
Giving it an objective, so we can go after it
And longing degrades into desires and attachments
It is also worth differentiating longing from the hungers of hungry ghosts
Pure longing holds the essence of emptiness
Empty of false self-identities
When acknowledged, longing will burn within us and pull us through and beyond life
