So many times

I’ve been on a roll

Thinking I’d got it, knew the path of spirit, what to do

And then stopped

By mechanical failures

By death of loved ones

By multiple, deadly, medical phenomenon – expressed in my body, where I must pay attention

Forward directions blocked – incapacitated

Even now, lying exhausted, I glimpse what I missed, how I misinterpreted, grasped for the mundane

Asking for guidance, the way narrows and steepens

My longing for the divine carries me, the divine assists by signaling the paths that lead astray

Thank you
