As part of our deep work toward authenticity we track back the patterns of our life to their source.
The original, intelligent, internal response to trauma (wounding) our younger selves put in place to keep them safe; by dissociating, freezing or pleasing.
Working with these younger parts can be an effective pathway to healing and inner transformation.
Attuning to them, as they present themselves to us during deep inquiry, reveals the ‘source code’ of our patterns.
Connecting with them, creating a relationship and learning about and from their experience is an important first step.
In order to truly heal we need to release a younger part from the ‘duty’ they are performing to keep us safe and then integrate them into our mature self.
To do this we need to deeply feel the overwhelming emotions they are holding and ‘hiding’ from us.
And even more importantly, to transmute the emotional and psycho-spiritual energy they are holding.
We can do this by allowing both the emotions and energy to run through us (via our mature bodies and energy systems) and be released.
It is challenging to feel and transmute difficult / dark / shadow emotions and energy, especially if they are accompanied by ‘horrific’ memories.
It is invigorating to transmute energy that has covered over or exiled our creativity, passionate, and true self-expression.
We know this transmutation is complete when there is no longer any energetic charge associated with the memories, experiences, and associated repetitive patterns in our life. We come to ‘neutral’ regarding the trauma response stream the younger part carries.
At this point we can invite our younger parts into our heart center to ‘relax’ and integrate with us in wholeness.
If a younger part ‘appears’ to us in the future as a ‘separate’ part, then we know the transmuting and integration work is not complete.
Courage, patience and perseverance are required!
