It is time to let the leaves fall
The leaves that we grew to nourish ourselves, to fuel our growth and development
They were never meant to be permanent, they were just for that season of our lives
But we are a culture of collectors and accumulators – both physical and energetic
Bound to the past
Fearful that we won’t grow more leaves
So we held on to the leaves
Both the traumas and the successes
And they came to define us
Prescribing our identity
But now it is autumn
The time of falling leaves
Time to let the old identifiers fall away
No longer suffocating under their burden
And sit with bare branches
