Destroyers

Do the winds feel more intense
When the big gusts come barreling through, do you feel antsy

In the driving rain, after a couple of hours, do you start to look around expectantly

Are you surprised that you are suddenly more tuned in to the weather
Even when it is balmy, do you feel somehow uneasy

Wondering what comes next
Feeling like you want to go home, but not even knowing what that means

Welcome to a world in the grip of Shiva
The destroyer – the ending

A time of the descent of the goddess into the underworld
Persephone, in her glorious, terrifying, transformative power

Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent, god of wind and rain
Departing into the ocean

Devas and elementals surrendering their duties
As life goes silent in extinction

The smouldering ashes of the maligned divine feminine
Bursting into flames

We love to link our awareness to the energies of creation, of manifestation, of new things arising in the east – the new day
Preferring this delusion of continuous creation, we seldom develop kinship with the energies and spirits of death, destruction, and endings

But, we are in those ending times
The wind is heavy
The rain is hard
And fire is exploding

The instruments of destruction, of completion

Humanity has signalled that we will not live within a land ethic
Individually, and as societies
Will not consider all of creation as our relatives
Our responsibility, our duty of care
We have lost our commitment to walk the earth gently, and do no harm
To be an ally of LIFE, a steward of Pachamama

We have set the stage through our selfish, willful actions and called in destruction
The spirits have heard and are answering and amplifying our call

The uncomfortable sense of feeling antsy, expectant, and uneasy is right on
Bigger winds are coming
More intense rain
Harsher droughts
Hotter, hotter, hotter
Fire

Befriend Shiva, walk with Persephone
We have become the destroyers
